Curtin Dubai Students Lead ASHRAE Poster Competition 2025, Bringing Together Sustainability Innovators Across the UAE

A big congratulations to our Mechanical Engineering student, Mohammed Sahal Shaikh, for successfully organizing the ASHRAE Poster Competition 2025, a flagship event that brought together bright minds from across the UAE to tackle pressing challenges in sustainability and climate change.

This year’s competition saw over 40 participants from 12 different universities, each presenting innovative solutions aimed at driving environmental responsibility and advancing sustainable engineering practices. The event provided a dynamic platform for students to share research, exchange ideas, and gain valuable insights from industry professionals and peers alike.

Reflecting on the experience, Mohammed shared, “It was truly inspiring to witness the creativity and commitment of students from so many different institutions. The diversity of ideas and the enthusiasm for addressing sustainability challenges made this year’s competition especially memorable. I’m grateful to ASHRAE, our faculty, and my fellow student volunteers for making this event a success.”

Curtin Dubai is proud to recognize the initiative, leadership, and impact of our students, whose contributions continue to strengthen the university’s role in fostering collaboration and innovation within the wider academic community.
