More than just a representative body, we lead initiatives across every aspect of student life, including academic support, sports, social events, sustainability, and mental health advocacy.
Our council is made up of passionate students from different programs, each leading a department that contributes to a better campus experience. From Education to Events, and Sports to Community Service, we’re here for you.
Keerthana is an aspiring aerospace engineer, currently focusing on materials engineering and manufacturing. She has worked with the EXPO 2020 Education program as a student champion and was also the previous vice-president of the student council. She has completed over 5 internships during her time at Curtin in various industries, including an internship with Isuzu in their Engineering department. Keerthana has also been the recipient of the Pro – Vice Chancellor’s Award and SP Wahi Award for Excellence for 3 consecutive years.
Lavesh is a mechanical engineering student; he is a basketball enthusiast and loves all sports. He aims to connect all the departments and schools together for all events for the upcoming year. He is interested in economics as well.
Amal Faruk, the new events coordinator is 19 years old and is currently in her third trimester. She was raised in glitz and glamour of photoshoots and events industry and is excited to take on the future events Curtin and make each one memorable! She has experience working at a luxury PR agency with big brands like Dior, Gucci, Coach and other luxury brands.
Ali’s interest lies in theoretical physics, he aspires to be an Astrophysicist. He is currently interning in Transnational Academic Group’s admission department, He aims to strengthen the communication among the student council and how fast information travels along the network.
Mian is an enthusiastic member of the Student Council at Curtin University Dubai, Also part of Tech Club management as a resource Manager and has recently started a new club called Podcast Club. Mian likes participating in all kinds of events.
Praveen is the Web communications officer I will be keeping the Curtin Life website up to date and have the social clubs pages fed with workshop images and more content as well advertise all the workshop events on their respective pages

Leandri is enthusiastic about the business world and learning about the key concepts of finance, management, and strategy. She is currently interning in Transnational Academic Group’s finance department. She has previously worked in hospitality and enaged in volunteering projects in South Africa. Leandri aims to encourage creativity, interactive learning, and innovation throughout Business School this year.
