A Masters in Business Administration (MBA) is a postgraduate management program. It teaches students technical, managerial and leadership skills in business and management.
An MBA is a good option for someone who wants to add value to their CV’s as the career opportunities upon earning this degree are endless. You can take on managerial roles, get into a new industry or simply earn more money. Its benefits include helping you stand out from the competition, work abroad or even secure an executive role.
The cost of studying an MBA in Dubai depends on the university you decide to study at. Top ranked Universities in Dubai may charge anywhere between AED 70,000 to AED 200,000, which is reasonable when compared to other international business schools. Universities like Curtin Dubai offer a range of scholarships and bursaries to lower the fee. As a UG Business student you may even receive a number of exemptions, drastically bringing down the fee for an AACSB accredited program.
The requirements to study in Dubai for an MBA or part-time MBA will depend on the university you opt for. For example, Curtin requires a bachelor’s degree in any discipline with a minimum course weighted average of 50% (or equivalent) along with 0 – 3 years of work experience for it’s MBA (Global).
Some universities in Dubai require a GMAT score before gaining admission into an MBA program. The GMAT, or Graduate Management Admission Test, is an adaptive computer test intended to assess certain analytical, writing, quantitative, verbal, and reading skills in written English. The reason it is usually required is that it tests for skills needed in business school in a standardised manner.
Some people ask what the difference between an MBA and an EMBA is.
The most basic difference is that an MBA is usually a more immersive full-time program, whereas an Executive MBA in UAE is more conducive to a working schedule.
Curtin’s MBA(Global) runs in the evenings, and is flexible enough for students to have a full or part time job as they study.
