Sara Aslam is a B-Com Accounting and Finance student and is currently in her final year. She recently joined Deloitte and Touche Middle East as an Audit Intern. She has interned in an audit firm and a trading company where she gained practical experiences.
She has also utilized the services that Curtin’s Career Centre offers, i.e. she has booked individual counselling sessions with the Careers Counsellor that in turn helped her secure a role in her dream company, Deloitte.
We asked her to share some tips when applying for an internship and here’s what she said:
For those who are as ambitious as me, do make sure that your CV and LinkedIn profile are on point. Use LinkedIn to your advantage, connect and engage with the HR representatives of the company you wish to work for and most importantly, have patience – the opportunity might not be presented to you instantly, but it will come to you eventually if you are determined!
