A big congratulations to one of our Mechanical Engineering students Keerthana Dana Sekaran, who won “1st Runner-Up” in the RAL (Region-at-Large) Project Competition, sponsored by ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers) organised by Manipal Academy of Higher Education.
The competition was held virtually between the 26th and 31st of October and was based on HVAC (Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning), wherein competitors had to present a project concept. Keerthana and her teammate Anwer Ahmed decided on “microcontroller based smart energy monitoring system”.
Let’s hear from Keerthana herself, “Participating at ASHRAE, one of the region’s largest societies is an amazing opportunity. I’m happy that we are informed about various competitions in the region regularly. This allowed my team and myself to boldly present a research project that we have been working on for a while. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank the Curtin Dubai team, our faculty, who constantly supported us and of course my team member, Anwer Ahmed. My key takeaways were to be confident and to pay attention to a lot of presentation ideas from other teams and trending insights on HVAC topics”.
Curtin Dubai takes pride in recognizing accomplishments and rewarding students.
